Liu, K. S.-Born in Nanking, 1887. Married, 1915. Studied at the University of Nanking, 1898-1909. B.A., 1909. Secretary, Chinese Y.M.C.A., Tokyo, 1909-11. Arrived in America. October, 1911. Private support. Studied Philosophy and Education at Chicago and Northwestern Universities, 1911-15. M.A., 1913; Ph.D., 1915. Subject of doctors' dissertation:-"Philosophy of Lao-Tsz." Vice-President, Cosmopolitan Club, 1913-15. Fellow in Philosophy, Northwestern University, 1912-15. Returned to China, July, 1915. Professor of Philosophy, University of Nanking and Government Teachers' College, Nanking, 1916.
